Webinar: Smoking is Ruff on Pets and Children: Dangers of Secondhand Smoke

03.12.20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

One cigarette can contain almost 600 ingredients and when burned, that same cigarette releases over 7000 chemicals. While cigarette smoke can cause a myriad of problems to adult smokers such as heart disease, pulmonary disease, asthma and lung cancer, secondhand and thirdhand smoke can cause a host of problems to both pets and children. This webinar will guide participants through the dangers and potential health problems associated with cigarette smoke and e-cigarette aerosol on kids and animals, and encourage participants to engage in quit efforts for both themselves and/or patients.

Presenter: Karina Alexander – Tobacco Treatment Training & Education Program Coordinator, MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence
