Tobacco Treatment Specialists use evidence-based assessment, counseling and treatment planning to support people who use tobacco or nicotine.
CTI provides the accredited training needed to pursue Tobacco Treatment Specialist certification. Completing the training does not automatically make someone certified. Certification is awarded separately by an external organization.
Complete the Required Training
CTI’s Maine Tobacco Treatment Education & Training Program is fully accredited by the Council for Tobacco Treatment Training Programs.
Both CTI training pathways meet the training requirement for certification. Participants receive documentation after completing their training.

Offered by the American Heart Association in collaboration with the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence.
