Join other health professionals in this remote training to learn more about nicotine addiction and how to integrate brief, evidence-based tobacco treatment interventions into current practice. The Basic Skills Training is open to all health professionals, prevention professionals, and community members who are interested in learning more about the burden of tobacco and strategies for intervention and treatment.
The training sessions will include: tobacco prevalence, products and burden; ENDS and vaping; motivational interviewing; brief interventions; tobacco treatment medications; and quit planning.
The virtual training will take place over three sessions, participation in all sessions will be required to receive CMEs/CEUs.
Available CMEs and CEUs: Up to 6 credit hours have been approved for the following: Maine Prevention Certification Board, Maine Board of Pharmacy, Maine Board of Dental Practice, Maine Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors, National Commission for Health Education Credentialing and Continuing Medical Education. Participation in all three dates of training is required to receive credit.
