National Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification Pathway

The National Certificate in Tobacco Treatment Practice (NCTTP) was created to standardize and unify tobacco competencies, knowledge, and provides recognition of professionals who obtain the certificate.

MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence Education and Training Program is a nationally accredited provider of the core training requirements necessary to apply for NCTTP. Completion of either the “Classic Pathway” OR the “Accelerated Pathway” fulfills the training requirement for the National Certificate in Tobacco Treatment Practice (NCTTP), offered by the Association for Addiction Counselors (NAADAC). The national certificate also requires passing an examination and providing evidence documenting 240 hours of tobacco treatment practice experience following the training.
