Webinar: Youth Tobacco & Nicotine Use in Maine: Insights from the 2025 Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey

04.14.26 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Presenter: Bonnie Alper, BS, MCHES, MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence

This 1-hour webinar will provide an in-depth review of youth tobacco and nicotine use findings from the 2025 Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey (MIYHS), a biennial survey of Maine students in grades 5–12 that monitors health behaviors, attitudes, and risk factors. A subject matter expert from the Maine CDC will join us to help interpret statewide trends and discuss emerging patterns in youth tobacco and nicotine product use.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the changing nicotine landscape affecting Maine youth, including shifts in product popularity and associated risk behaviors. The session will also highlight evidence-based cessation and prevention programs and outline how to refer students to appropriate support services, such as My Life, My Quit (age 13 – 17) and the Maine QuitLink (for students age 18+).
