The MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence (CTI) leads statewide efforts to reduce the burden of commercial tobacco product and nicotine use through implementation of evidence-based initiatives.
Working across the MaineHealth system and across the state, CTI drives measurable impact through key strategies:
- Tobacco Treatment Services, including the statewide Maine QuitLink
- Tobacco Treatment Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC)
- Health Systems Change and Integration Strategies
CTI is fully accredited by the Council of Tobacco Treatment Training Programs (CTTTP) to provide training that meets the core training requirements for Tobacco Treatment Specialists. CTI administers Maine’s statewide tobacco treatment contract on behalf of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC), Maine Department of Health and Human Services. The contract supports Maine QuitLink and many of CTI’s tobacco treatment education and training offerings.
