SUMMARY:Webinar: Brief Solution-Focused Therapy - Applications for Tobacco Use Disorder Treatment
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Edward J. Perka\, Jr.\, CASAC\, ICADC\, NCTTP – MaineHealth Center for Tobacco Independence\nBrief Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense\, BSFT is a hope friendly\, positive emotion-eliciting and future-oriented vehicle for formulating\, motivating\, achieving\, and sustaining desired behavioral change. In this webinar\, we will discuss some of the key concepts and tools of BSFT\, including goal development questions\, looking for previous solutions\, looking for exceptions\, present and future-focused questions vs. past-oriented focus\, compliments\, the Miracle Question\, and scaling questions. \nEarn 1.0 CME

SUMMARY:Webinar: Secondhand and Thirdhand Smoke Impact on the Latino Community & Smoke-Free Multi-Unit Housing
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Yaneth Rodriguez\, MPH – University of Southern California Tobacco Center for Regulatory Sciences\, Community Data Collection Manager\nSecondhand and thirdhand smoke are a significant public health concern and driver of smoke-free policies. When nonsmokers are exposed to tobacco smoke\, their risk of lung cancer is increased by about 20%. Thirdhand smoke leaves chemical residue on surfaces where smoking has occurred and can continue long after the smoke has left the environment. This presentation will review the impact of secondhand and thirdhand smoke can have on the Latino community. This presentation will also explain how smoke-free multi-unit housing policies can protect tenants. \nEarn 1.0 CME
