DESCRIPTION:This 1-hour training is designed for professionals who work with youth\, including school personnel\, healthcare providers\, coaches\, and other trusted adults. \nThe session provides foundation in adolescent brain development and explains why nicotine exposure during the teenage years can be especially harmful. Participants will learn about current trends in youth use of e-cigarettes and oral nicotine pouches\, including emerging patterns in the United States. Practical\, client-centered intervention strategies will be shared to help providers integrate brief\, effective conversations about nicotine use into everyday interactions with youth. Group treatment is a collaborative form of healing that focuses on concerns shared by group members. \n\nProviding evidence-based tobacco treatment in a group setting is an effective way to help people stop smoking or using other forms of tobacco.  Group treatment can help participants explore and resolve ambivalence\, raise awareness of tobacco related issues\, increase self-esteem\, and strengthen readiness for change. Participants will gain competence in treating patients with tobacco use disorder and learn how to address tobacco use within organizations.
