Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) remains one of the most effective forms of treatment for individuals experiencing behavioral health diagnoses and substance use disorders. This webinar will review the basic components of CBT, and share hands-on approaches to applying CBT principles when working with clients experiencing tobacco use disorder. Strategies such as change thinking, labeling internal experience, common thought traps, and cognitive restructuring will be discussed. Finally, participants will acquire essential skills to introduce behavioral based interventions with patients, and strategies to develop or enhance a behavioral coping plan for tobacco use.
